To achieve a sustainable world, everyone needs a voice.

We believe in fostering inclusive and collaborative approaches to climate and ecosystem resilience—building strong alliances between communities, all levels of government, civil society and businesses.

GEI aims to ensure not only that all citizens are given a voice, but that those voices are heard and considered.

We envision the impact of these voices in climate policy based on indigenous knowledge, community centered forest laws, global agreements for ocean litter, local activists who guide climate resilience in their communities, sustainability-oriented businesses, and more.

How We Define “Green Equity”

Recognizing the urgency of growing and increasingly unpredictable environmental threats, green equity starts with an awareness that a disproportionate share of such threats impact minority, marginalized, and economically disadvantaged groups worldwide.

Focused on citizen-empowered biological diversity conservation and mitigation of climate change impacts, green equity envisions a world where a wider range of voices are heard and respected in determining collective actions on climate and natural resource management locally, nationally, regionally, and internationally.

Green equity embraces taking a truly equitable approach to addressing the ecological challenges we all face.
